See this content in the original post

You’ve launched your new website, and you’re ready to take on the world! But wait…how will people find you if its a new website?? Or what if you’ve rebranded and now have a different web address??

Not to worry! Here’s a quick checklist of 6 things to do after you’ve launched your new website so you can make sure nothing slips through the cracks and you don’t miss a beat!

1. Google Business

If you have a Google Business account you'll want to update your listing to add your newly launched website and update your details. And if you don’t have one yet, now is the perfect time to set one up!

Not only is having one useful for people searching for your business to help them find all the new information on your website right away, but because it's owned by Google it may help with your SEO rankings as well.

(👉🏻 HOT TIP: Update your personal profile too! Even if you barely use it, it's just one more thing to add to the overall ranking of your site!)

2. Social Media

If you have any social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Youtube, TikTok, SnapChat) you’ll want to update your current profiles to add your new website as well as any new or updated branding. And if you aren’t on social media now is the time to create those new profiles!

Having official accounts on all of the biggest social media platforms is great for your SEO! Not only does this give you more places pointing to your website it allows people to follow along and keeps you relevant!

PLUS, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that all of your socials are the perfect place to build up some hype and tell the world that your new site is launched! 🚀

3. Google Search Console

If your new website is built on Squarespace you can connect your Google Search Console account directly to your website so that it tells Google your site has pages that are ready to be indexed, which means they’re ready to show up on search result pages. But you can actually go one step further and manually serve up your website pages to Google Search Console as well to make extra sure your freshly launched website is indexed asap.

If you work with a Squarespace designer (🙋🏼‍♀️like me, hi!) this is something I can help you with when we design and get your website launched together!

4. Google Analytics

If your new website is built on Squarespace you'll have built in traffic analytics to show you what visitors are doing on your site and where they have come from, and TBH they’re pretty awesome! But, if you’re serious about stats you'll definitely want to add Google Analytics as well so that you can track your website performance over time. It really is a really powerful tool with a whole other layer of information.

5. Email List + CRM

This one is a no-brainer! If you have any amount of people on your email list you should 100% be sharing your new website with them! It’s free relevant traffic to your website from a source that already knows you! Make sure you give them a reason to actually click and go to your new site. Offer a new site launch discount or promotion thats just for them!

Don’t forget to also include any new or updated branding and website links in your CRM or Marketing Email Provider platform so that everything stays cohesive!

AND If you have an email signature that includes your website and/or email address make sure you don’t miss those too!

(👉🏻 HOT TIP: Update your business email signature too! This one is so easy to miss because its usually applied automatically for us and we don’t even think about it! If you don’t have an email signature yet you can easily design a custom one in Canva with all of your new details!)

6. Public Listings

This is one that’s easy to miss, especially if you’re rebranding. If you have your business information listed anywhere (Craigslist, Kijiji, Gumtree, Better Business Bureau, Yelp, TripAdvisor, Trustpilot, as well as local Networking Groups and Community Boards) you’ll want to update your current listings to add your new website as well as any new or updated branding and any updated or new business details.

6 things to do after you’ve launched your new website… so simple, but so easy to forget these little details! I include this checklist and more in the Post Launch Package I send to all of my clients after we’ve launched their site out into the world 🚀.
