My Simple 4 Step Process That Makes Web Design A Breeze!
As a small business owner myself, and someone who’s been on the other side of the design table before, I’ve really put a lot of thought into making my own web design process as simple and smooth for everyone as possible.
I totally get it…you’re already super busy juggling all the things being a small business owner requires you to juggle, you don’t have the bandwidth to take on something else…especially a web design project 😵💫.
Don’t worry. Thats what I’m here for.
So, to put your mind at ease and let you in on everything you can expect when we work together on a project…
Here’s my simple 4 step web design process from start to finish:
STEP 1: PREP
Before we start your project you’ll have some homework to take care of.
When you sign up for one of my Designer Squarespace Website packages you will receive a Website Starter Kit to help you gather all of your content (branding, photos and all of the words for your website) before we start designing and building your website.
All of your content is due one week before your design date.
STEP 2: STYLE + FEEL
First things first! We’ll jump on a 1 hour Kick-off Call together to review all of your homework as well as discuss the style and vibe you’re looking for. Once our plan is in place, and we have a clear vision of how your website will look and function, I’ll get to work!
If you’ve opted for the Mini Brand Package, I’ll start there in order to give us our colour palette, fonts, logos and overall visual style moving forward.
Then, I’ll move onto the Home page which will set the tone for the rest of your website.
STEP 3: DESIGN + BUILD
Once we get your Home page just right. I’ll start designing and building out the remaining pages, and ensure that the style and vibe stays cohesive throughout the website.
We’ll optimise the back end of your website to ensure it’s working for you. And I’ll add in some extra bits of code to make your site pop and look really polished.
I’ll also go through and incorporate some basic SEO functions to help with your search engine rankings in the future.
STEP 4: REVIEW + LAUNCH
We’ll test your site across multiple devices and screen sizes to ensure it always looks its absolute best on any device, and tweak any issues we might have missed during the initial build.
Then we’ll jump on our 1.5 hour Lesson + Launch Call where I will show you all around the back end of your website and teach you how everything works so that you can have full control of your own website moving forward.
And when our call is done we’ll get your site all connected and you are officially LAUNCHED!
